ABOUT FIND YOUR PATH
Find Your Path is a user-friendly web map intended for use by mobile devices. It allows users to browse parks and trails around San Marcos, Texas. Weather information provides current conditions and outlook for users to plan their use of the parks and trails. Users can take advantage of the available location services in the web map to search for available parks and trails closest to them. What sets Find Your Path apart from other trail web maps is the Editor Widget. Combined with location services, this feature gives users the ability to create, delete, and edit features that are on the trail. Features include but are not limited to drainage issues, trail erosion, litter, fallen trees, graffiti, washouts, or anything else that might be considered obstruction or degradation of a trail. The goal is to provide an experience for users to enjoy area trails while allowing them to update conditions in real time to improve the overall experience for other trail users.
THE CREATORS
Ryan Bobo
Ryan received his B.S. in Water Resources and certificates in Environmental Interpretation and GIS at Texas State University in 2013. Since then, he has worked in telecommunications as a GIS coordinator with a focus on providing support in fiber optic design and management. Ryan is currently working on his master's degree in GIS.
Khan Mortuza
Khan received his M.S. in Geography from Auburn University, AL. Right now he is pursuing his Doctoral degree in GIS. His research interest is Geospatial Big Data, Human Mobility Analysis, Spatial Data Mining and GIS Application on Transportation. Khan worked as GIS analyst and also as a Town Planner in his home country Bangladesh.
Cody Fishback
Cody is finishing up his final semester at Texas State University and will be graduating with a degree in Geography and a certification in both GIS and Locational Analysis. Before Texas State, Cody served as a medic in the United States Army for four years and was stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.
Adrian Lopez
Adrian received his undergraduate degree in geophysics from the University of Texas at El Paso. After some time working in oil and gas exploration, he pursued a commission in the US Navy. He is currently a working on his masters degree in GIS and a graduate certificate in intelligence analysis from Texas State University.
