Charles C. Good (Assistant Manager):
Background: Charles was born in Victoria, Texas on August 21st, 1984. In 1996 he moved to Sugar Land, Texas and attended Austin High School. After completion of high school he joined the Marine Corps Reserve while attending school at Texas State University.
Work Experience: Charles Good’s work experience includes manual labor on his family farm growing up. In the summers and after school during adolescence he was employed at Sunbelt Machine Works as a tool room assistant/quality control. Since 2003 he has been in the Marine Corps Reserve and is currently an Infantry Squad Leader for Alpha Company in Houston.
Education: Charles is a Senior at Texas State University. Degree program is a BS in Business Geography, with a minor in Business Administration. He has also received a GIS certificate.
Interests: Charles enjoys options trading, salt-water fishing, hunting, kayaking, and spending time with his family.
Mark Parker (Project Manager):
Background: Mark was born in Dumas, Texas on January 7th, 1978. He was raised in the Texas Panhandle, but became a central Texas resident as soon as age allowed. Being raised in a rural agrarian environment, respect for the land, hard work, and propriety serve as the basis for his personality components.
Work Experience: Sales, small business management, and construction project management have provided Mark with a varying supply of skill sets to be used through the new GIS technologies his current education is focused upon.
Education: Mark is currently a Senior at Texas State University. Degree program is a BS in Geography, with a minor in Political Science. A certificate in GIS will also be achieved at the same time as the bachelor’s degree.
Interests: Varying outdoor activities from sports to studying unique landforms.
Eric Brotherton (Web Master/GIS Analyst):
Background: Eric was born in Houston, Texas on April 14th, 1973. After living in California since 1978, Eric and his younger brother moved in with his grandparents in Hallettsville, Texas in 1986. He graduated from Hallettsville High in 1992.
Work Experience: Eric has held many different jobs since he started working at the age of 16. He is now the General Manager at Mochas and Javas, a locally owned coffee house in San Marcos, Texas.
Education: Eric has a high school diploma from Hallettsville High School. After working for many years, Eric started attending Texas State University in 2004. He plans to graduate in May 2009 with a B.S. in Geographic Information Science and a minor in Criminal Justice.
Interests: Eric’s interest include mountain biking, riding his motorcycle with his wife, bowling, and anything involving with his family and friends.
Justin D. Holder (GIS Analyst):
Background: Justin was born in Los Angeles, California on February 15, 1986. After moving from California to Austin, Justin started playing several different sports and outdoor activities. He decided to start a career in geography after being inspired by a teacher in high school.
Work Experience: Justin has had various work experiences in indoor and outdoor activities. He first started working for a surf shop in California and after moving to Austin he worked for a baseball company. Justin now works for Travis County Parks and Recreation in Austin and Tele-Network Communications in San Marcos.
Education: Justin has a high school diploma from Crockett High School in Austin, Texas. Justin is currently working on getting his degree in Geospatial Information Systems at Texas State University. His anticipated graduation date is May, 2009.
Interests: Justin enjoys skateboarding around San Marcos and doing other outdoor activities. One of his favorite activities is fishing on the Blanco River.
Beau Barela (Lead GIS Analyst):
Background: Beau was born in Oceanside, California on January 17th, 1986. He then moved to El Paso, Texas with his family and graduated from Franklin High School in May, 2004. Being raised in two border cities has granted Beau a great appreciation for cultural as well as environmental diversity.
Work Experience: Beau started working as a lifeguard in high school at a local water park and at the Jewish Community Center in El Paso. After graduation of high school he started waiting tables at P.F. Chang’s China Bistro where he worked for three years. Beau is currently employed at Gold’s Gym as a front desk associate.
Education: Beau has a high school diploma from Franklin High School in El Paso, Texas. After graduation of high school he attended the University of Texas at El Paso where he stayed for two years before transferring to Texas State University in San Marcos. His anticipated graduation date is August, 2008. He will attain a B.S. in Geospatial Information Systems with a minor in Business Administration.
Interests: Beaus interests include hiking, camping, mountain biking, rock climbing, and anything dealing with the outdoors. He also enjoys working with computer systems.
