Helpful Hints for Using the Hill Country Alliance's Interactive Map
Due to the large amount of data available, map refresh speeds can be very slow for most internet servers. To increase speed, deselect slope, Digital Elevation Model, contour lines and satellite imagery immediately. In addition, deselecting all parcels and subdivision data layers, FEMA layer, and complete hydrography, as well as layers you are not interested in, can increase speeds. If you are interested in one of the above layers, zoom in closer to the area of interest, then select the data layer you wish to see.
To select or deselect a data layer, check or uncheck the box next to the layer, then select "Apply". "Apply" can be found at the end of the data layers column.
Use the Tool Bar at the top of the map to zoom in or out, or use the zoom box tool to draw a box around the area of interest to zoom to that area. The Info tool will return specific information about the point you have selected. For the Info to work, PopUps MUST BE ENABLED.
