A Total Solar Eclipse happens when the path of the Moon lines up with our view of the Sun from Earth.



When this happens, the Moon appears to block out the Sun! This causes the Earth to get dark in the path of the eclipse, which can last up to almost 8 minutes!. Although it may be darker outside, DO NOT look directly at the Sun! Always use proper eye protection like Eclipse Viewing Glasses!
