Meet the GeoViz SQUAD

Chris Davis has a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology with a minor in Geography. Over the course of his academic career, he has utilized geographic information systems software to apply to the field of Archaeology and has participated on several field projects, including a survey for the National Parks Service. After graduation, he plans to continue applying geographic information systems and photogrammetry to the field of archaeology, to aid in the preservation and understanding of non-renewable cultural resources.
Derek Ellis is a GIS major with a minor in Anthropology. Derek's interests lie primarily in the energy field, as well as in energy resource management and cartography.
Nancy Fitzpatrick is a Health Information Management major with a minor in Geography. She is working on obtaining her GIS certificate from Texas State University-Geography Department. She brings experience in records management and knowledge of Google SketchUp 8 to D3GVS. She aided in the development of the attribute table for the Visualizing Lockhart project. She also helped gather photographs for creating the model. She enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee for Texas State and is also involved in United Campus Ministry-Wesley organization. She plans to pursue a career by integrating health information with geographic information system concepts for the benefit of the public's health.

My name is Ryan Simms, from my favorite city in the world New Orleans, Louisiana. I am a GIS major with a minor in Business. It took me awhile to figure out my major, but I am glad I discovered a strong interest in GIS. I look forward to taking my technical and improved presentation skills to the business world in the very near future.
