General Information About Texas State GeoSystems

Who is TSGS?

A team of Texas State University - San Marcos (TSU-SM) students.  We are Kyle Beesley (team manager), Jeremy Soules (assistant team manager), and four analysts, Sean Brugo, Matthew Noble, Nick Pantuso, and Katherine Snipes.

What is Geo4427?

A Capstone Undergraduate Geographic Information Science (GIS) course at TSU-SM where students worked as teams on real-world GIS projects. These projects were designed and conducted by the students under the direction of Dr. Yongmei Lu and Nikki Williams.  The other three teams that are a part of this class include Traffic and Parking Solutions, Enabled Consulting, and Geospatial Information Technologies.

What is the project?

We were assigned the task of enhancing our TSU-SM campus by assessing our current vegetation and green space areas along with proposing a new, dynamic arboretum plan.   Utilizing GIS, we collected, researched, analyzed, and interpreted various types of data and information to design a detailed, comprehensive plan for our campus.
