Derek Smith - GIS Analyst

I first began my college career at the University of Texas at Arlington, taking classes with an undeclared major. After two years of taking core classes, I moved to Austin, Texas, and began taking classes at Texas State University in San Marcos as a computer science major. Though I enjoyed my computer science classes, I became more interested in the geographic informations systems program (GIS) at Texas State. I am currently a senior and plan on graduating in the summer of 2008, with a Bachelors of Science in Geographic Information Systems and a minor in business. Geography has always been an interest in my life for as long as I can remember, and I hope to work in the field for as long as I possibly can.
